Peemaï’s music is a traditional South-East Asia based music, from Burma to Indonesia. The Hindu-Buddhist’s in uence in this area of the world has created an inspiring evolution of the musical trend, re ected by distinctive musical instru- ments such as the Birman sang gauk (harp), the Lao khène (mouth organ)... Inspired by this colorful in uences music the four musicians have chosen to make their its melodies and sonorities. The tunes of Molam (rural blues from Laos and the Issan region of Thailand) are mixed with electronic and reggae sonori- ties, the « sacred » musics are mingled with sonorities in the way of John Coltrane and Jimi Hendrix have carried out... Its hypnotic rhythms and hauting melodies, offer a unique musical set, a complete fusion with traditional Asian musics and the jazz, rock and electro european culture. « Attend a Peemaï’s livec concert it is travelling through sounds you would not expect. Looking at the saxophonist you can hear his keyboards ; it feels like you are surrounded by the moisture from the Mekong, while your eyes slide to the guitar and the bass.
